Ok, Im a sophomore, and I am taking biology, I have a C in bio now, but i was lazy last semester and now i have to retake the first part as my first semester elective. They recommend that you take chemistry before you graduate so I'm thinking if I should take marine science, oceanography, or chemistry junior year. But since I failed the first semester my teacher probably wouldnt reccomend me to chem. Advice ?

I want to major in journalism so science doesnt count as much, but from what I've heard, colleges like to see chemistry on your transcript.

The college that accepts you will be looking at how prepared you are for their program. Science credits do not matter as long as you have met the district graduation requirements. What the university will look for, if you are truly going for journalism, will be your English credits - AP English, Journalism, Yearbook, Newspaper...

I was kind of in the same situation... I had to re-take a Algebra class cause I was also lazy and slacked off! But now, I'm passing it with a B+. Next year I will be a junior, and I plan on taking Chemistry, although I don't like Science. Just re-take the Bio class you failed, and take another Science couse if you don't like Chemistry. Like Physical Science or Physics.
Good Luck

You should research colleges that you are interested in going to since you already have a good idea about what you want to do later in life. Find out which courses they like to see on your transcript, and plan accordingly. Since science is not directly related to your planned future occupation, you might just want to take something that interests you.
