It seems like some people come to the R&S section and pretend to be fundies or atheists or Muslims just so they can make inflammatory statements to discredit the group that they claim to be members of. Has anyone else suspected this?

Now that This question has been up for two days, I see 12 GOOD answers. Any of them could qualify as best. Some are more personal, some more informational, but all of the first 12 are pretty honest. I'll have to pick one at random, but I'd like to thank all of you.

I masquerade as a 300+ lb. 45 year old wise cracking atheist that has enough common sense that I know I will never change any theists beliefs.

Yes it happens quite regularly.They will also copy someone else and pretend to be them to discredit that individual.That's called cloning

I really hope you're right because if the people on here who claim to be Christians really are(only the holy roller ones) then my faith looks really bad

Yes, I have suspected this and would never be involved in such...
I even use my real photo as an avatar...well, I was much younger then.

I hope no one accuses me of that. I'm a Christian, and it's just unrealistic to claim that all Christians behave maturely.
