I laid out this afternoon, for about an hour. Is my tan going to develop more over the next hour, or am I really going to stay this white? Thanks

I realize I have to get a base tan, I'm asking if my skin color will darken after I tan, or if it happens instantly.

first of all please do not go to the tanning salon. it is a quick fix but it causes wrinkles and skin cancer. it is a proven fact.
also do not try those fake lotions in the store. most of them do not work or rub off on clothes.

yes you will get darker. the key is to lay out for an hour or two a few days a week. if you stay out all day you will probably burn rather than tan. also you want to build up a tan. tanning takes time. you cant just go out for a few hours and be super dark.

they make a special sunscreen i think from hawaiin tropic or something like that and it is called dark tanning. it is a tanning lotion. spf 8. they combine tanning oil with sunscreen and i love this stuff. it really works.

It will take time. Go Fake an Bake ( tanning salon)
to develop a base tan first and you will tan much quicker. I used to be dead against tanning salons till I tried one for myself. Now I can have a tan w/o sitting under the sun for hours a day all summer. I still do though b/c I don't tan too too much in the salon.

You can't just lay outside once and expect to get tan. Your color changed a bit but to keep it you need to keep going outside or to the tanning booth. I go to a tanning booth and the hardest part was developing a "base" tan---it took forever! Just keep it up!

It's going to take time to see results, but everytime you're out, you DO get tanner.
