i have the same problem!!
First, use a anti-fizz serum or cream, and then you can do alot of things from there. If you want to straighten it, do it in layers that way it will be flatter and not as puffy!! Good luck

I would try these two lines of products
1. Redken Smooth (you can find trial sizes at Ulta stores, check Ulta.com for a store near you) because the regular bottles are expensive, probably 21 bucks for both shampoo and conditioner
2. My personal fav, Matrix Sleek line of products, if you have a Sallys beauty supply near you they have a generic version, buy the conditioner and see if you like it, its under 6 bucks and worth a shot. I love it, its like butter and not waxy. Or you can buy the real stuff at just about every salon, jc penny, trade secret, walmart salon
3. use cream styling products

two words; herbal essences. they have 9 different shampoos! from healthy hair to 'dangerously straight' and that's what you need. it only cost 2-3 dollars. they sell them at CVS to walmart to mostly everywhere. good luck.
