Because they chose to indulge in their sensual lusts, and reveled in them, even after God gave them time to change (repent), He allowed them to continue in them until it was so ingrained in their personality, that nothing could change them.

Don't get yourself confused here the expression ''God gave them over to shameful lusts" means that the people where committing sins due to their stubbornness and so God left them to themselves. God did not put the "shameful lusts" i.e. homosexuality into their heads, they carried these sins on their own freewill. Remain Blessed.

No. God did not put "lust" into a person's head. It is our own fleshly desire that leads us to destructive ways....if we indulge it. If people persist in sin, and refuse to repent, God at some point will give them over to it. That is what this verse is saying.

No. Gave them over....here means that he chose not to try and set them to the right path as he tried to do so with so many other things. He chose not to tell them and argue with them over the matter and let them do whatever they want and face the consequences themselves.

Yes I see where you are trying to understand and this verse only means they believe not the truth so God let them dwell in their sins so he blinded the minds of mankind in this matter so they would never again be able to believe the truth.

Again, God gets blamed for everything. The fact is we are all responsible for our thoughts and actions - God has nothing to do with it. Whoever wronte this passage was obvivously homophobic and had his own sexual perversions.

Romans 1:26,27
God's plan for natural sexual relationships is his ideal for his creation. Unfortunately, sin distorts the natural use of God's gift. Sin often means not only denying God, but also denying why we were made. When society says that any sex act is acceptable so long as nobody gets hurt, it is fooling itself. In the long run (and often in the short run), sin hurts people-indiviuals, families, whole societies. How sad that people who worship the things God made instead of the Creator so often distort and destroy the very things they claim to value!
Homosexuality (to "change" or "leave the natural use" of sex) is strictly forbidden in scripture (Leviticus18:22); thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is an abomination.(taken from the King James Version)
Homosexuality is accepted by many in our world today-even by some churches.
But society does not set the satndard for God's Law.
Many homosexuals believe that their desires are normal and they have a right to express them. But God does not obligate nor encourage us to fulfill all of our desires (even normal ones). Those desires that violate his law must be controlled.
If you have these desires, you can and must resist acting upon them. Consciously avoid places or activities you know will kindle temptations of this kind. Don't underestimate the power of Satan to tempt you nor the potential for serious harm if you yield to these temptations. Remember, God can and will forgive sexual sins just as he forgives other sins. Surrender yourself to the grace and mercy of God, asking him to show you the way out of sin and into the light of his freedom and his love.
Prayer, Bible study, and strong support in a Christian church can help you gain strength to resist these powerful temptations. If you are struggling with this or know someone who is, or perhaps are already deeply involved in homosexual behavior, seek help from a trustworthy, professional, pastorial counselor.
Allow me to attempt to better explain this as my understanding (please read through the passages to gain your understanding. I am a christian who sins continually, not an ordained minister or counselor, just a believer in God's word)
Please re-read the book of Romans pay attention as you read through Romans1:24-32 - These people chose to reject God, and God allowed it. God does not usually stop us from making our choices against his will. He lets us declare our supposed independence from him, even though he knows in time we will become slaves to our own rebellious choices - in essence we will lose our freedom NOT TO sin. (meaning we won't have the strength of the holy spirit to help us or keep us from sinning or giving into temptation). So does life without God look like freedom to you? Look at this very closely. There is no worse slavery than slavery to sin. May God's Grace and Mercy bring you an understanding of His truth spoken in the words of scriptures.

God chose to step back and let them exercise free will. He chose not to interfere--and this is what happened.

Nope, it means he allowed them to act this way. He didn't restrain them from that course of action.
