is that really true? if a girl were to be having an affair with a guy, and then they later officially get together, is it a given that he will just cheat on her too?

Everyone is different. I do feel that some people can change, but for the most part, yes, once a cheater, always a cheater.
Many people think that cheating is okay. There is a guy on Y/A who says that he loves his wife, but wants a married female friend. He thinks that is okay because he calls it a "friendship" and because he says he loves his wife. Of course, it's different strokes for different folks, but I feel that many cheaters are simply in a state of denial because of their guilty conscience.

Nothing is for sure but this is pretty close. If he did it once what will stop him if he feels those same feeling again. When one is feeling low, distant, or bad in any way the first thing should not be to run into the arms of another. He has set the precedent.
The old saying goes If he will cheat with you he will cheat on you....same for women.

possibly! I think it depends on the guy or girl. Some will remain cheaters for life. Others seem to let it go and grow out of that phase.

That means they are both cheaters... Together they will either suffocate each other or they will neglect each other. Or maybe they will be professional about it and leave the cheating scene with respect for each other.
The affair means they both have it in them...

My wife cheated twice in five years it took her getting pregnant with her lovers baby to stop. If that didn;t happen and got snaged I think she would still be doing it.Its getting found out and give a choice they stop. Reason most cheaters are cowards they can;nt face there problems.

well how long did the affair go on? if he stayed with his wife or girlfriend while he was having sex with you ..well then yea! he was proably haveing sex with her too but I don't think he would cheat on you too if he was not truely happy and the person just would not let it go b/c I have been there on that one. If he didnt leave b/c he was caught is your true answer b/c if he left b/c he was caught, he will cheat again!

Unless a guy goes through some radical transformation, his past behavior is a good measure (but not always) of his future behavior when it comes to being faithful.

well that is the case sometimes, but i cheated on a boyfriend only the once and regretted it loads and i know i would never do it again, it all depends on the person

i think it depends on the person but it would probably be more likely to happen. but if you were dating someone who had cheated before (with or without you) wouldn't you always wonder if he would do that to you too? that wouldn't make for a very trusting relationship.
