I've heard you can cover old tattoos by acctually tattooing the tattoo with a flesh colored ink. mixing the inks to closely match your own tone. once healed a new tattoo can begin.
Anybody have any thoughts to share on this idea?

See a good tattoo artist. They'll go over your options with you. My husband just went to a new guy to get an old tattoo fixed. He had let a friend start a tattoo on him years ago. They were pretty messed up at the time and it turned out horrible. Now, he's getting it fixed. When he asked the artist what the worst cover up job he ever had to do he said he was doing it!!! And believe me, it looks a million times better.

If you see someone with tat's you like check out the place they went. You won't know til you talk to someone.

I have had several tattoos myself I don't know about any kind of flesh colored ink but, even If they had that I couldn't see it working as it would be to light to actually do anything. Your best options are laser removal, which is expensive and more painful than the tattoo it self, or getting a cover up tat.

I had one on my shoulder that I just got tattooed over and you can't even tell the first one was even there, they done a real good job at covering up...My advice- go to your tattoo shop and find one you like and then ask how hard would it be to use this tattoo to cover the old one,if that won't work maybe they will have a suggestion for you, something even cooler.Good Luck!

It sounds as if you want a new tattoo in its place. Go to an artist that excels in this. My guy has before and after pictures of his work and he has done amazing.

It seems kind of silly to go over it and then get a new tattoo over that.

you can only put dark over light.....if your tattoo is white you can cover it with flesh colored ink.....your best bet is a cover up tattoo.

I'm not sure how well this works, as to cover a tattoo, you usually have to go darker....
