You might be having an allergic reation to something you didn't realize you can't tolerate. For relief soak in a tub of warm water and baking soda. If you can tolerate going to a store to buy an oatmeal bath to soak in, that will soothe skin as well.

Maybe prickly heat? Last night I was curled up with the heating pad and the same thing happened to me.
