yes. try practicing your skit/play/song etc. in front of your friends or parents. if you master that, and they are at the play/skit/song nite etc., you can just focus on one of them.

yes, ofcouse i can help a 9 year old child with stage fright by telling him that its very easy to get rid of this stage fright.everyone initially face this problem but the fact that even though we do not speak any thing on stage it does not mean that we are a looser rather we had an experience of standing on the stage.though we feel that we are insulted but fact is that we are utilising an oppurtunity.hence, there is nothin called stage fright.

Before u go on a stage ,first reherse what u have to say or what u have to do,write it two times in a piece of paper and practice it at home with ur parents and on THE day just go and don't think anything about people ,just go out there and say or do what u learned, don't care for any1 on stage ,do what u are supposed to do ,go do it

Yes, you can help but you can't get rid of it. It's just natural. In the movie wedding planner a little boy used a paper clip to transfer the nervous energy from his body to it.
This could be done by just holding someones hand or something else it doesn't really matter as long as you believe the nervous energy is gone.
Massages is another alternative. helps release stress
The main objective is to calm/ relax them. Depending on what the situation is you could use some words of encouragement.

I believe so, if you'll think about what I have to say. The same thing holds with musical artists, preachers, teachers, etc... If you have enough passion and belief in what you are wanting to accomplish, you can focus on that, on what you want to project to the audience. It will not totally take it all away, but a little nervousness is good, because it keeps you sharp and on edge. In this world of being comfortable, it's tough for people to remember that.

When you are the stage don't look at the people sitting on the chairs. Look at the wall or a clock and do what you have to do and before you go out there take a deep breathe and go and do what you have to do. That is what I do when i do something new or scary at gymnastics.

Encourage him/her with what they are going to be doing. Tell them to blow off the being nervous before and during. Dont think about the people that are in front of you, smile and make eye contact. If you look like your having fun, no matter what your doing, the audience will follow. Do what you need to do and have fun with it. If you look afraid and act like you cant do it, you probably wont. Continue to have faith in them, and have them do the same.
Good luck.

That is a real toughie. I don't believe I would force the issue. There are likely to be hidden factors that she/he isn't ready to go over with you.
Try a leisurely trip to the mall, and pretend you are on stage yourself, and ask for her critique. It could help open her up.

my advice...DO NOT PICTURE THE AUDIENCE IN THEIR UNDERWARE!!! it depends on how bad ur stage fright is...if its not that bad start by practicing in front of a small crowd! if its really bad, and ur totally freaked out, start with one person, then add a few, and a few more, until u get comfortable with a good size audience! well, good luck!
