I used to be shy, then I figured out that just being yourself and not caring what other people think about you doesn't matter. Live your life the way you think it should be. After figuring this out, I have no problem even speaking on stage in front of 100's. If they don't like you, it's their loss

I really like shy people. Every shy person I've ever known has turned out to be the one of the nicest persons I've ever met.. Being "shy" IS part of the real you.

Remember: "Still waters run deep." "It's better to say nothing at all and let people think you are a fool than open your mouth and prove it." lol

Be the real you...shyness and all.

I have the same problem. Its not that I am shy, its just that my type of people, just might offend most people. Most people think that I try to be perfect, and hate that i am smart, and hates when i prove my knowledge. I am not cocky, I just come off as bold and I think that frightens people when they see a 6'3" brother who knows his stuff and speaks the truth. I am sort of like a rebel against the system, and they hate that. But i don't hate people, i don't believe i should but knowledge is power, and I dont want to overpower anyone, but I want to help them out.

It's alot of work but you'll be much happier when you conquer this problem. My suggestion: get a part time job as a hostess or greeter or volunteer as an usher at your local university theatre. There's no pressure, you are exposed to a ton of people and most of them will be happy to see you, its a win win. you get to mix in with people and get exposure, they are receiving a service. After awhile you'll find that it less and less bothersome coming across someone you don't know and you'll be comfortable in initiating conversations.

If you're shy...you're shy.
NEVER ever be something you're not.
Some people are loud...thats what they are also.
The more you get more comfortable in your own skin..the better things will work out. .People who are sensitive enough to understand your type are the ones that are worth knowing.
All others shouldn't matter to you.

If you're too shy to go on job interviews or whatever...just pretend those people interviewing you are wearing just underwear. People are people.

Since you know you are shy and want to try, half work is done.
Try talk to friends. And gradually more.
All the best. Be brave and take the World.

I got over that by just having one drink. Loosened me up to where I was able to talk to people fine, and realized that was OK by them. Thereafter just did it without a drink.
