that's an unpredictable question because it will start in Europe like any other thing and then America then the rest of the world and I'll say 5 years if not sooner and it will start with alcohol

Actually you are asking two questions here. There are health warnings about certain foods, like these junk food chains that are cropping up everywhere. We are told to eat healthier foods. Thanks to jamie Oliver we are slowly getting there.
But when it comes to Alcohol the only time we will get a health warning is when the Governments have had enough revenue coming from Alcohol. The Governments are alrerady making a loss from those quiting smoking which is making less of a tax revenue. So I think in their opinion it is still healthy to drink.

Warning labels which say how much alcohol drinks contain, along with daily recommended amounts, have been prepared by health officials.
The labels, which could be applied to every bottle, can and carton of alcohol sold in the UK, would say how many units it contained and give alcohol consumption guides for men and women.
Unlike the dire health warnings attached to cigarette packets, the labelling system proposed contains messages such as "Know Your Limits" and "Enjoy Responsibly".
Food label warnings are being prepared.

Am I the only one who thinks alcohol should come with a serious health warning? In know we all know the risks anyway, and I understand that it probably wouldn't make much difference, but I have seen a lot more lives ruined and families destroyed by alcohol than I have by drugs.
And after watching that man eat McDonalds for a few weeks and become ill... it just makes me think.

About 10 yrs ago I looked at a bottle of Californian wine in a Swiss supermarket and found a warning on it - a warning that pregnant women shouldn't drink alcohol. So it's already happened.

It will take less time now that the government think they are winning the tobacco fight. IMO alcohol does as much damage to the body/ the economy/ local neighbourhoods as tobacco does.
Do you know that an alcoholic with a liver problem will be offered a new liver in priority over someone who has an auto immune liver disease?

Excellent question-I am giving you a star. Foods full of preservatives, chemicals, artificial flavors and colors, dyes, unhealthy fats, etc. are the reason there are so many "new" illnesses, such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc. They didn't exist before food additives and convenience foods took over. Meat and poultry contains parasites, growth hormones, antibiotics, steroids, etc. All of these things should be clearly labeled as potentially harmful to your health.

The better question is "How long before an overreaching government attempts to regulate our consuption of alcohol and food just like they do with tobacco and are trying to do with trans-fats?"
