Okay so basically i'm getting my braces off on friday but i have this one concern. I have to wear elastics and i've noticed that if i don't wear them my teeth shift back. So once i get my braces off.. won't the same thing happen? my teeth will just shift, even with a retainer?

I just got my braces off, and I had the same thing, and i was definitely worried about the same thing! but don't worry, it doesn't happen! your retainer will definitely keep them in place! if it does shift, and you put ur retainer in, they'll shift back. just be sure to follow what your orthodontist says and all that!
that's awesome that you're getting ur braces off! =)))

That is what the retainer is for. And most of the time, your teeth do shift some after you get your braces off, but most of the time if you do what the orthodontist asks, it is not significant.

ask your orthodontist. the retainer should hold everything in place.
