No, I wouldnt advise that you "get rid of" your puppy due to the attacks. I think you should do more research on the breed. A pit bull is just like any other dog. When raised properly they are great pets. When in the hand of an irresponsible owner they can be very dangerous. Any dog can bite a person. You just hear about more pit bull attacks right now due to the popularity of the breed right now. The breed has become very popular among people who want a tough guy image and train the dogs to be aggressive. The American Temperament Testing Society (www.atts.org) does test on many different dog breeds every year. American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, & Staffordshire Bull Terriers (all are considered pit bulls) scored better than most dogs breeds, including Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers and Poodles. A pit bull is a product of their enviornment. If it is taught to be mean and vicious then they are extremely dangerous, but when brought up in a loving home and socialized properly the only thing you have to worry about is it licking you to death!

Why would you get a puppy only to abandon it shortly thereafter? The time to decide if a puppy is right for you is BEFORE you bring it into your home, not AFTER. As a breed, pit bulls are very stable temperamentally. Note however, that agression between dogs can arise in dogs of any breed. You don't mention the sexes of the dogs involved, but as a rule, dogs of opposite sexes tend to get along better than dogs of the same sex.
