Leviticus 18:22 " 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

But it's ok for women to sleep together with a man, and that's what the rest of the chapter is about.

Regards,

Chris

Since God, speaking through the inspired prophets authoring the books of the bible, declared homosexuality a sin, then it is a sin.
See: Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9,10; 1 Timothy 1:10.

Thus, homosexuality is just one of a litany of the degradations of the perfect moral state found in original creation.

As all sinners, homosexuals can be true Christians. On the scale of the depravity of sin, homosexuality is no greater than other sins. It is just that homosexuality is often practiced openly ("in your face"), so the reaction by some is over the top. It may also be the case that anyone that seems to revel in their sin seems disingenuous if they are a self-professed Christian. I believe that the true Christian homosexual struggles daily with their sinful nature. And when we all do some personal inventories of our own sinful natures, I am sure we are found wanting.

Romans 1:26-28

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations with unnatural ones. 27. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Med committed indecent acts with other men, and recieved in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

(...Here is the part that applies to YOU...if you argue that God thinks being Gay is okay...)

28. Furthermore, since the did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a deraved mind, to do what ought not be done.

In Romans 1-32, describes the nature of man's ruin and God's wrath on unrighteousness.

This does not just include the sexual sin of homosexuality, it includes idol worship, sexual promiscuity and such. They dishonored their bodies among themselves.

The Apostle Paul writes that God gave them up for vile passions, for even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

"Likewise, also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men (males), committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error due them."

But understand, this is only if a person insist on living here. We all fall short of the glory of God, all have sinned.
The good news is that we have been redeemed through Jesus Christ unto righteousness! All you have to do is repent, believe and accept Him.

St. Augustine once said "Before God can deliver us, we must undeceive ourselves." Pretty cool huh?

The Bible doesn't say that being gay is wrong, just the act of sodomy or lying with a man as one would with a woman. In biblical times, no one was considered exclusively "gay", but sodomy was an act that was seen as using flesh for unnatural purposes. There is also a long list of other sexual taboos such as having sex with an animal.

Leviticus 18:22
Do not lie with a man as you do with a woman.

This verse is as much sexist as homophobic, since it is clearly written for men only.

Whether you think the verse is God's word or man's word depends on your faith in whether you think God or man wrote the Bible.

You are leaving out Romans which is also part of the bible. Don't just pick and choose to satisfy your own lust. You are not the author of the bible.

Interpreted? No, I would say that they say it rather explicitly.

"They exchanged God's truth for a lie and worshipped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason, God gave them over to degrading passions. Even their females exchanged their natural sexual function for one that is unnatural. In the same way, their males also abandoned the natural sexual function of females and burned with lust for one another. Males committed indecent acts with males, and received in themselves the appropriate penalty for their perversion." (Romans 1:25-27)

There are numerous other examples, but that alone should be enough to convince the most hardened skeptic. You can reject the teaching, but you can't change its meaning.
