YOU ALWAYS TIP...I had one done that was $200.00 and I tipped $25. I figure the tip on a tattoo not necessarily by the cost of the tatt, because the tattoo parlor figures in color ink, I figure by the time and quality of the tatt. My personal rule of thumb...At least a tip of $20 an hr. that it took to do it. Just my rule..I have a great artist...

Your additional detail...yes that would definitly be a fair tip...Since it is that much cost I figure the tatt will take about 1/2 hr.

ALWAYS tip a tattoo artist. They do get paid for your tattoo but the tip is really appreciated. Even if you are not going to get another one.....You tip you nail person and your waiter so yes definitly tip the person that takes the time and care to permanently color your body with your thoughts permanently. Just my opinion and I hope all share it...Alda

Quality and intricacy can play a role. $20.00 is good or 20%. If it is something that may take more than one session plan on giving more.

10-20%. I use the percentage since the time I'm being worked on varies too much for a flat amount (my artist is very busy).

And agreemsg that Mr. Big is FOS.

Addendum: Wow, that's the most thumbs down I've ever gotten (tied with Bettierage). Thanks! I know now that I gave good information if the small minded could only do this about my post.

I went back & thumbs-upped the folks with real advice, cuz, well, you folks are just durn peachy.

You should tip between 15 and 20 percent.

20 percent of the cost. and whether he does a good job is stupid. you should know he's going to do a good job. research these guys. don't just let some random moron draw on you. research.

Mr. Big is full of crap. The last person you want to alienate is your tattoo artist. =0)

Tip as you would in a restaurant.
