I have been professionally performing on stage and in movies since i was five (i'm twelve now). Like ive done tours and stuff,
im 12, but play parts 16-18. (i look older and am tall for my age.) Auditions are coming up in disney world, and its always been my dream to preform there. You need to be 18 to audition though, and my manager said its my decision. Should i say im 18, or would that be wrong? my parents said we'd discuss it. What do you think?

I would reccommend against it. People in the theatre world have long memories, and if (more likely, when) you were found out, you would have to deal with the people who hired you being less interested in working with you again, when you were old enough to be hired.

That being said, you should see if your agent can get a special exception for you--it is very rare that all rules are cut and dry, and maybe you can audition anyway.

You have a very impressive resume here. Your accomplishments in life tells me that you are a charming, mature, intelligent young lady.

It doesnt' seem wise to lie about your age to anyone, nor can I imagine why that would be a factor. (You have to be 18 to perform at Disney World?????!!!!!!!) Perhaps they have their reasons. It seems to me that a child's environment would be more encouraging to young artists/talent.

Take into consideration that any role you accept responsibility for is going to be very time-consuming, and the truth of your age is likely to come out. Having been lied to, there is a chance Disney will enforce a ban on your contracts, and the dream could be gone forever

WISHING YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!

You are really setting yourself up for a major problem! here is what it is...First of all Disney will certainly can you if they find out that you are NOT eighteen! AND you sure dont want DISNEY giving you a negative feedback for the future. BUT SECOND, Once you get marked as say eighteen then that means when you are only twenty four casting directors will assume you are thrity two! And THAT may be the kiss of death for your career! I Think it through, but having said all that....IF YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH IT GO FOR IT!!! AFTER ALL....."IT'S *ACTING*" !!!!!!!!!!!

You best wait on that dream until your 18. If I were your mother there would be nothing to discuss.

You'll be 18 soon enough, and your talent will still be there. Until then, you'll find plently of other great projects. Please be honest. The world needs honest people. The craft needs honest people. Talent is wonderful, but integrity is a thousand times more precious.

I would not go through with telling them that you are 18 tell them how old you really are and they might just forget about the age limit if they really like it

thats very dishonest and they will find out your real age eventually and will get you fired. you will also probably not be chosen for other roles because they will know you lied and who knows what else you might lie about, thats what they will be thinking about, and it might completely ruin your career. be patient, and maybe in 6 years you will be a beter actor, with more of a chance of getting a part, and you won't have to lie to get in.

I think that you shouldn't audition. If they found out you weren't, then you would be in big trouble and it might end your acting career. Try to be patient and wait until your old enough.

lying will only get you fired if you actualy do get the job. after you get a job they will have to tax you, and your true age will come up when they run the paperwork. dont lie, its not classy and its always a bad idea. a stupid thing to do to ruin a carreer.

Be up front and tell them your true age. They will find out eventually and fire you. It is better to be honest from the get-go and see what happens from there.
