Well, generally it would be good to show up with a little gift. They'll always say "You shouldn't have!", but they'll be tickled pink. Make sure it's small and tasteful. Not garishly colored or too exotic.

Always be punctual. English people hate those who are late.

Make it a point to compliment them about their beautiful home. An Englishman's home is his castle.

Do not speak too loud. They don't like that and avoid slapping them on the back and touching them all the time. They are not a touch type of people.

Above all,do not make body noises like farts and belches. They just won't know how to handle that.

When eating dinner, to which you've been invited, always say that it's so delicious!

Most English food isn't, but the white lie doesn't hurt.

Under no cuircumstance say it's insipid.

Finally, remember that they're 'a drink' culture. Demur from taking the second drink! They don't really mean it, but offer it, all the same.

And don't overstay your welcome.

As soon as you've had the after dinner drink, get up and say how you wish you could've stayed, but you've so much of work to get done and leave!

They're mostly like that and like to turn in early, so don't be a pest and hang on and on.

With this, you should be fine!

All the best!

Cheers!

be respectful, treat them how you would wish to be treated, were not neandertals who grunt and keep pigeons in our pockets... well, not everywhere...

you be polite, please and thankyou dont go amiss occasionally. but dont turn up unexpectedly, its impolite and they may already have plans, which will put them in a position of A not going out, and B being obliged to entertain you...

oh, its also a big no no to intterupt corrors, emmerdale eastenders and or big brother... so check... and phone first...

Do not: Pick your nose, spit, swear or touch your hosts (other than shaking hands).

Do: Say "please" and "thank you" as often as possible.

Do not go out on a Friday or Saturday night (unless you want a fight).
