antifreeze! How sick is that? honestly I lost all respect for that person immediately and it literally made me sick to my stomach. I had to find out where they live so that I could make sure my dogs werent in danger.. My dog barks at passers by from behind my fence, he is a dog protecting his territory and his family. Its not like I let him chase people or terrorize them he is behind a fence and when he barks I call him inside and say sorry to the people walking by. But in reality barking at strangers is what dogs do, its in their nature. My dog also barks at kids not that he would hurt them its just what he does to ANYBODY walking by our yard. It scares me that other people would even consider killing a dog because it barked at their children.. because my dogs are my family too... doesnt mean I would poison the neigbours kids for throwing rocks at my dog (which really did happen) I merely told them if they did it again I would talk to their parents and they would be in big trouble.

What reason could you possibly have to kill a dog for barking at your kids from behind a fence in its own yard? wouldnt it be better to talk to the owners about it rather than killing a dog who really has done nothing wrong, that every other dog does in the world.. barking.

Dawn H wow, so you think that dogs should never be allowed to bark when they are outside? what of your children? should I insist you keep them inside so I dont have to listen to them running around screaming, yelling and carrying on? no because you know what I realize that kids will be kids and make noise once in a while.. my dogs are kept in the house 99% of the time and let out to go to the bathroom. When they bark at people they get a reprimand and are brought inside, they are not let to bark. I hear more kids screaming daily then dogs barking but I accept it as part of life, if I didnt want to hear the sounds of other ppl etc I would live out of town. Sometimes I am awakened by my neighbour cutting the grass at 8am does that mean he should then neglect to cut his grass on my account? of course not neither should my dogs not be allowed to do what dogs do occasionally. If dogs bark too much you can call the police and file a noise violation, same with any other sound.

First thing you should do is go to your co workers neighbor and warn them of the threat so they can be vigilant when they let their dog out in the yard. Secondly you should call the police or you local animal controller so that should your coworker ever carry out the threat there is a record so that they can be prosecuted.
Antifreeze poisoning is a terrible way for a dog to die. I had a dog that was poisoned with a deer leg soaked in antifreeze. My husband woke up that morning for work and woke me when he saw poor Desi walking in circles and staggering like she was drunk and vomiting all over the place. I rushed her to my vet who is fantastic and saw us before he even opened, he recognized the symptoms immediately but did blood tests to be sure. Desi was put on antibiotics and an iv drip but I was told even if she did pull through that antifreeze destroys the kidneys and Desi was in renal failure and if she did live she would need dialysis 3 times a week. Desi didn't survive, and we later found out three other dogs on the block were also poisoned. Why? I wish who ever did it could have looked into Desi's eyes as she was being wheeled back to intensive care and saw the fear and sadness because she didn't understand.
Again I urge you to get in touch with the neighbors so that they don't suffer what our family did!

They should also know that poisoning an animal is a crime and if they are caught they can be arrested. If this person follows through with what they threaten to do then the local humane society should be called.
8 years ago my beloved dog was poisoned with antifreeze. Although we suspect a particular neighber we could not prove she did it. The animal drinks the antifreeze because it has a sweet taste to it. After ingesting it, the poison starts to shut all the vital organs down. This is not an instant death, it is prolonged for several days, sometimes even weeks and the animal suffers terribly. There isnt a "cure" once they have ingested the poison. This is a terrible and horrible death. I know I watched my dog get worse before my eyes then had to put him to sleep.

I cannot believe your coworker is so mean. Try to find out where this dog lives and warn them. Your coworker could go to jail for this behavior. PLEASE WARN THE OWNER OF THE DOG ABOUT THIS. KILLING A DOG BECAUSE OF THIS IS A CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR. YOU MIGHT EVEN BE LIABLE FOR KNOWING ABOUT THIS AND NOT REPORTING IT.
Hello, dogs bark. It is how they communicate. The dog may be barking at the kids to call them to come and play with it. or just barking to warn the kids not to come into its territory, or barking because the kids tease it to bark, or many other reasons, or simply barking because it is a dog and cannot speak.
Your coworker is a very uncivilized person. I wonder what their kids do now and will do in the future.

Yes. I used to live down the road from these people who kept a chained up poodle in their yard. I walked past their house everyday and everyday the stupid dog barked at me. I was in a foul mood one day and barked back (rather viciously). For a while after that it would run and hide behind the bushes when it saw me coming.

I think the co-worker is the one who needs to be poisoned! It is just in a dog's nature to bark. I hate people like that. I am very, very, very protective of my kids and saying that out of anger is one thing but it sounds like this person is actually planning it. That's messed up

Well Dogs cant talk, and that's their way of talking, and that's what they do. your coworker should stop and think before he or she dose anything stupid, and that person may not get what's coming to them, in this life if they do poison the dog, but will get it in the next life, hope he or she comes back as a barking dog, with bad neighbors!!!!!

I'd go straight to the police and the SPCA, that's so sick! Telling them might just save the animal's life, and make them realise hopefully that people care, they can't just do stuff like that and expect to get away with it. WHen speaking to the authorities make sure they get that you honestly believe that they mean to do the animal real harm and think they are being very serious, they'll at least go round to speak to them - give them a huge fright too.

Training your dog will be a huge part of your interaction with him for the first few months. Learn here https://tr.im/tHhdO
This includes housetraining, leash training, obedience training, socialization, and problem solving. In addition to providing your dog with needed skills, this time will also be a great opportunity for you to bond with him. Take the time to really get to know your pet while training him and a loving relationship will easily develop.

I would talk to the owners of the dog and tell them what you know so they have the opportunity to keep their dog inside and protect him or at least talk to the neighbor and tell them they can go to jail for such a thing. You can't just sit on that information. I hope you can't
