Sounds like you may have been the victim of identity theft and your accounts will stay frozen until you produce documents verifying who you are and showing that you didnt make a huge purchase like a car. You need to have copies of all documents that identify you and ask the dealership in question who came in and made this purchase because any dealership with sense would stop a transaction if they sense the customer making the purchase isnt the customer at all. Cover all your grounds and if needed file a police report where you live and in the area where the dealership is so that law enforcement are working both ends.

Word of advice shred any and all documents so nobody can't go dumpster diving for stuff to start charge accounts or anything in your name and making illegal and unauthorized purchases in your name or your partner/spouses name. Do a check of your credit report for any weird charges or things that is financially out of character with you and run with that and also consider legal action as well. Dot your I's and cross your Ts and cover every base possible.

You like many other Americans have in fact become a victim of Identity Theft...Get a police report, make a copy and send it to Federal Trade Commission, report it to IRS after you download form 3949A, fill it out and make a copy for yourself, send it back Certified mail. Also report it to Secret Service, The Postal Inspectors and FBI. Make sure to give them all a run down on where you have lived, gone to school and worked for the past 10 years and get a copy of your Tax record for the last 10 years. Go to war with the credit Bureaus and make them correct it! Get an attorney and sue them and the car dealer. That should take care of it and you may have to do it several times, Before your name is cleared and the thief caught. By downloading form 3949A from IRS.gov, you may even recieve a 10% Reward for everything that has been done wrong and place a Fraud Alert on all of your credit, once you prove Who you are. Whatever you do Report misuse of social security number to Social Security Administration. Whatever you do . DO NOT change Your social security Number it does not solve the problem....Good luck.
