putting hair up in curls?

i've always wondered what do i use to put my hair up in curls for a dance? do i use bobby pins, or clips or what?

i always do this hairstyle, nd it looks FABULOUS =) kk first i braid my hair overnite, and in the mornin i let it out nd then i use mousse or gel for curls, and i scrunch it a couple of times, then, i take half of my hair *like how i tye a half pony tail* and then clip it up : ) and then, you see how your hair is sticking up? make the clip lower, then damp the hair a bit, and comb it down and you will have soemthing like a "fountain" kind of hair design. HAVE FUN =D

I think this hair style is nice. Use a curling hair iron for it.
