we just got a new 6 week old kitten today, my lab was 2yrs old on march 2nd. i tried to put the kitten next to him n told him to be nice its just a baby i think he wants to kill it, what do i do?

Our beagle acted like this when we brought our kitten home. He was really small. It ran out in front of our car so we brought it home. I keep him in a cat carrier until he was a little older but this way alley could still sniff him and get used to him. Then I would hold him and let alley sniff him. They've been together now since november and you would think they were killing each other but its just play. And the kitten starts it everytime. He's the trouble maker. And try and make sure if your holding kitten to talk to your dog so he don't get upset remember he was your 1st baby. Don't try and force it. Good luck to you.

Make over your dog at the same time of making over the kitten.If your dog tries to harm the kitty, take a rolled newpaper to your pooch. This scares him more than hurting him.
