I used to work in a daycare and we had to remove a child from a crib when they either reached 24 months or the top railing of the crib reached their chest. It is not safe for a child to be in the crib past this point because of the danger of falling.

You need to get a toddler bed. You can get them for less than $50 dollars at Wal-Mart and the crib mattress fits right in it.

You are lucky to have kept the crib this long...both of my daughters jumped out at 12-13 months!

Just a note...you will not be up all night keeping her in the bed. I have a 2 year old that stays in hers all night. The only thing I had to do was stay in the room for the first 2-3 nights until she fell asleep which only took a few minutes.

It sounds like she is ready for a toddler bed. You "can" buy a net to put over the crib but I don't think a net should have to babysit a child, it is a bit lazy but to each their own. If you don't want to use the net option then I suggest either staying with her until she falls asleep every single night or putting here in a big girl bed.

The FIRST time they climb out of their crib should be the last time they sleep in it, unless you don't have it on the lowest setting for some silly reason.

If she isn't old enough to safely climb out of a toddler bed just put her mattress on the floor.

You also now need to make sure her room is completely childproof if you haven't already. Put anti-tip devices on ALL heavy furniture, make plugs and cords inaccessible etc.

Sounds like it is time to let go of the crib and put her in a bed. When they learn they can do that, they won't stop if they want out. You cannot keep a toddler in a crib who wants out. Simple as that.

Watch her until she falls asleep, and if you have a baby monitor in the room, as soon as you here her moving around and awake get her out. Maybe you should think about getting her a toddler bed. The sure sign of getting out of the crib means its time for a toddler bed.

Get a crib tent you can order them online from toys r us, or wal-mart, i think wal-mart is a bit cheaper, or maybe try just putting her crib mattress on the floor and have her sleep there just make sure to put everything, including toys up before naps or bed. good luck.

Get a crib tent - you can get them at Babies R Us or OneStepAhead.com - its a mesh "tent" that goes over the top of the crib and prevents them from climbing out. Works fantastic.

Don't move her into a bed. All you'll be doing is giving her an easier venue to get out of bed. Trust me, you'll be up and down all night. Wait until she's closer to three to do the bed, or until she can reason better and understand she needs to stay put, whichever comes first. Good luck!!

Now that the crib has become a safety hazard, its time to move up to a toddler bed.

When they start to climb out of the cot, its time for a bed.

I work in daycare, most children are getting big beds around their 2nd birthday.
