I am looking to buy a small marina in Michigan and turn it into a destination for small watercraft and cheese and wine lovers. The problem I have is, in Michigan, the season is usually from April 15th until around October. What can I do to keep busy and make money during the off season? There are currently no buildings to capitalize on winter storage, but there is a small (20 x 40) store that I plan on stocking.

Video Rentals in the store.
Snowmobile rentals if the lake freezes over and trails are nearby.
Dogsled tours.
Winter boaters training courses.
Uncovered storage - shrinkwrap the boats / trailers etc.

Ice fishing expeditions? How about an off-season watercraft repair class? Think about working with your local Elderhostel group for winter dates and activities.

oh and woman love scrap booking, its crazy they pay tons of money to rent out a place that can have tables for them to all work on their scrap book stuff, you supply space, supplies, cheese and wine. I know scrap booking sounds stupid but its getting really popular.
