Ok, Im a sophomore, and I am taking biology, I have an A in bio now, but i was lazy last semester and now i have to retake the first part as my first semester elective. They recommend that you take chemistry before you graduate so I'm thinking if I should take marine science, oceanography, or chemistry junior year. But since I failed the first semester my teacher probably wouldnt reccomend me to chem. Advice ?

I want to major in journalism so science doesnt count as much, but from what I've heard, colleges like to see chemistry on your transcript.

I'd say go ahead and try to take the chemistry. I think that it all depends on what you're thinking about doing in the future after HS. Sounds like you want to go to college and be some type of science major. If so, take oceanography and marine science before you graduate. You will probably have to take something similar in college and this way you will have a jump start and some info in college will just be refresher. I took all three of those classes and liked oceanography the most.

Maybe take marine science or oceanography your junior year and chemistry your senior year.
