I'm a young guy and I happen to llike to fish alot. Mostly because it is a very relaxing hobby to do. Just sitting on the bank and think about nothign for the whole day. My friends however don't hink so. They want to catch stuff and catch them quick and then they get frustrated when they don't. They think that this is what old men do when they retire. Do you think fishing is an old person's sport?

no that is crazy. i am in my teen years and i am a girl, i love to go fishing. your friends just don't have enough patience.and i agree w/you when you say that fishing is relaxing because it is. you should keep fishing and if your friends ditch you then their not your real friends.

Basically it sounds like your friends don't understand the therapeutic effect of real relaxation. Sometimes when I go fishing (honestly, most of the time), I want to catch fish, but on days when they don't want to bite I'm still able to enjoy the day, and not get worked up about not catching. I get enough stress at work.

So do what you enjoy and let them be grouchy and have their ulcers. On the other hand, when the fish do want to bite, put in a little more effort and catch some. And enjoy your friends' company then.

(By the way, I been fishing 40 years and I'm only 48. If it's an old man's sport, I started awfully young.)

If you like fishing, go for it. I like fishing too. I bring my friends fishing and they get bored. But I still fish.

uh well it requires next to no physical strength, or energy, i suppose thats why elderly men enjoy it. Yet if it makes you content, go for it.
