This is one of those semantic / problematic questions. Legally, abortions CAN be performed in the United States in a Catholic hospital. However, the hospital will not perform an abortion. It is against their religious code of ethics. So, if you are looking for a place to get an abortion, I suggest you look elsewhere. As a matter of fact, if you are being treated in a Catholic/Jesuit/ etc. hospital, most likely you may even get the run around on birth control. I had to ask for birth control to "keep my skin clear" rather than as birth control from my doctor. He told me he was not allowed to proscribe it as birth control. Fortunately, he left that clinic and now has his own practice so we have dispensed with the silliness.

Theoretically yes, they have the equipment. In reality nope, nyet, non, no.
Catholic hospitals only perform abortions in case of danger to the mothers. Some not even in those cases.

Abortion is MURDER.
It shouldn't be performed in any hospital, anywhere, by ANYONE claiming to be a medical professional!
Catholic Hospitals- as any hospital- have the right to choose which surgical procedures will be done there. Catholic hospitals also do not do sterilizations.

no, a catholic hospital shouldn't and wouldn't perform an abortion. that is because catholics are very pro-life and abortion is the total opposite of life.

if they dont they are idiots....as bad as they think it will be...without abortions would be much worse (we were there already in the 40's, 50's and into the 60's...abortions will still occur, might as well make them cheap and safe until we can think of something better that actually works)...preaching abstinence is naive, thats like saying police officers dont need to wear bullet proof vests because crooks shouldnt have guns...

THEY DO NOT DO ABORTIONS NOR DO THEY LET YOU GET YOUR TUBES TIED AFTER YOUR PREGNANCY. I WORK IN ONE AND ALSO THEY DO NOT PAY FOR BIRTH CONTROL. I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY OWN POCKET.
