They would of been referring to CAP guide. It collates the final sale prices of cars in auction each month to compile a realistic guide to the cars value for the following month. This covers cars of all ages. Glasses guide is also used for cars dating back as far as 1999. Most garages will take a average from both if applicable. NO garage/trader will use Parker's guide. This is just a poor valuation guide made available to the buying public. Its very rarely correct.

They use a book called "Glass's Guide" I thought it was a trade only publication but have found the web site. Hope that helps.

Only possible place I can think of would be Kelley Blue Book. I've seen a lot of dealerships with the advertisement saying "Priced Below Blue Book!"

Their website:

http://www.kbb.com

is free, and includes pricing for dealership trade-ins. The site also includes pricing for private-party value, retail value, and for fair, good, and excellent conditions. I use the site often before buying or selling a vehicle in my family.

I hope this has answered your question. If you have any more, please feel free to ask.
