If you need all your bank statements from 6 years ago and you haven't got them, then write to the bank requesting them. This will be £10 and no more.
If you have the statements and can add up all the charges, write to them asking for them to be repaid. Line up another account in case they shut yours. ( They can be a bit spiteful).
The reason they have to refund you your charges is because their costs for not paying an item due to insufficient funds, is that they can only charge you for their true cost and not make a profit. I.E. It does not the bank £38 to bounce a cheque, nearer cost is £4.50. This is why they won't go to court to defend it.
Stick to your guns and you will win.

The Federal Trade Commission and The U.S Department of Commerce for starters! Numbersusa.com is boycotting Bank of america in case you are one of their customers! Without iving a lot of information, you can slam the bank to relieve stress at the ripoff report.com. Your state's Attorney General may also be able to help you...Good luck!
