That they have the faith to believe in His Gospel Truth even to be martyred. They are martyred because they don't deny Jesus Christ their Savior, who washed their sins away in His redeeming blood.
They are not martyred for blowing self up & enemies of God in a crouded restaurant.
They are murdered for their faith. Why do they believe sooo strongly Jesus Is as is recorded in the Holy Bible & what He has done in their heart?

The early Church are those first redeemed by His Blood and also those persecuted today who are redeemed by His Blood.
Did you know that many of the Islamic territories were early Christian first, & Japan also was early Christian until an evil dictator took over.

You need to reexamine your history. Christianity has done some hideous things over the centuries. From Constantine to the English colonies in America Christians had murdered and tortured millions.
Keep believing your fruffy Sunday School bubblegum version of your religion... It's propaganda.

If you are, a quick check on the history of Northern ireland over the last 40 years may just change your mind. They blew up plenty of people, including women and children.
