My younger brother keeps asking if he can join my gym & work out with me in the mornings before I go to work & he goes to school. I've putting him off because I know we will both have to shower together after our work out, and sometimes I use the steamroom (both done naked of course). Should I let being naked in front of my brother bother me?
I'm 24, my younger brother is 20. The showers at the gym are communal (1 room, 8 shower heads, no partitians) I'm sure he knows the showering situation, yet he still asks. Should I take it as a sign he's okay with it, and therefore I should be okay with it also? Anybody else been in that same situation?

We're both guys. He goes to college. I have no prob being naked in the lockerroom, but I was curious if being naked in front of my bro should worry me.

hmmm i think its ok he knows the stitutation so u know go for it me and my bro went to the gym to together too but it wasn't like we were looking at each other it like when your little and your mom makes you 2 take a bath together i think it is perfecttly fine its not like he is your guy friend and its not like u too r going to hook up or something lol it was fine for me and my bro after all he is your brother you saw him naked when he was 6 running in the sprinklers so i think its fine

If you are okay with other guys, you should be okay with your brother,he's your family. Most people shower toward the wall. it's okay. At the YMCA,children and men shower together. When you first shower with new people you fell shy and you don't really want him to see you naked though.Ask your mom, maybe when you were little you and your brother bathed together.The minimum age for a child to see grown-ups their own sex naked is 5. The men in our YMCA shower
don't mind children 9 or 10 seeing then completely naked(I'm a boy.) Remember he's your family. Secret(you might like it there so you can share secrets or gossip about your boss.
The first time you shower with him you may want to shower across the room from him. and once your okay with him shower next to him. I would not like s stranger seeing my bro

Your brother probably hasn't even thought bout the showering side of it. In fairness, you shouldn't feel uncomfortable showering in front of your brother if you are happy showering with strangers. Why don't you go out for a drink with him to calm your nerves and tell him your worries? I'm sure you'll both end up giggling about it and then enjoy working out together.

He's your brother I don't think it should bother you much. If anything he should be the least embarrising person to take a shower with. Also, it is the gym that has a communal shower its not like your sharing a shower in your home.

What gyms lets people shower all together, and by the way no it is not right. However, you seem to be okay shower nude in front of people you dont even know and that in itself doesnt seem right so do whatever

If uncomfortable with anything that intrudes into your sense of personal space just say 'NO'. Keep it simple. Offer no explanations. Afterward go to the gym management to ask
your younger brother be denied service for personal reasons.

At 24 and 20 im sure youre both mature enough to shower together! other men may come in aswell right?! Try it out! if he doesnt like it he wont join you again! If he was ok with it then youre stuck with your brother! x

whats the problem....alot of men shower together and sit in steam rooms together (buck naked)...he's old enough to join the gym and does not need your permission, yes you should let him join you, at least he's thinking about his health...why are you worrying about your bro being in the shower with you...i am sure he's seen it all before

Of course it's fine. It's normal for brothers to see each other naked, probably more common than anyone else in fact.

Good Grief! This is so petty,,so silly. Do you think you two seeing each other naked, is somhow going to damage the brotherhood? I happen to be a nudist, and I could care less about being seen naked ,,,( unless some man wants to see me naked, for arrousal) By the way,,being naked is good for the soul. ( just don't bug him about yours is bigger than his!!!!)
