Maybe if we find out how it work, we will have the knowledge to dismantle it.

because people are always looking for answer to questions that sometimes are just beyond their understanding. I dont think that we can dismantle this because some people just need to have something to believe in. It's too hard for them to understand that some things just happen for no reason whatsoever... people want to look for a reason beyond bad things and sometimes things are just bad. Its unfortunate but I do hope that education is helping to control the population of religious freaks out there.

Religion does not work - that is why there are so many of them. The Christian churches have split many times into different sects and the American church looks like the Anglican Communion will split it from the main body of the church.
The sad fact is that religion is just another vehicle for the extremist and egotist and will eventually fail completely.
Just look at the Christian church all denominations are loosing members fast, even the Catholic church. No doubt driven out by the religious extremists.
In Islam it is even more pronounced Shia and Sunni are bent on killing each other in ever growing numbers!
Religion does not have to be dismantled it is well set on the path to self destruction.

Religion does not work. Religion is about how you can work your way up to God. That can never happen. We are finite. He is infinite. But Christianity is about how God got to you, and he did it in an amazing way through Jesus Christ. Religion is man-made, rooted in pride. Biblical Christianity is a God-send miracle, rooted in humility. Jesus effectively dismantled religion. That is why he was persecuted by religious people.

It "works" if that's what you want to call it because most of us are intellectuallly lazy and do not want to "use reason and sanity" to figure thnings out. We are brain`washed at our mommas knee, being told over and over again the "story" of religion and it is extemely difficult to unbrainwash ourselves through the years but those of us who have been successful couldn't be happier
