Is Muslim treatment of Bahai's hypocritical ?

On one hand, Muslims expect Christians and Jews to have respect for the the rights of Muslims and for the religion of Islam (even though Islam can be seen as sort of an "offshoot" of both Christianity and Judaism), yet Muslims and every Muslim nation of the world does not afford the same luxury to Bahai's (the Bahai religion is an offshoot of Islam).Millions of Bahais risk their lives every day simply by living in a Muslim country.

"Muslims expect Christians and Jews to have respect for the the rights of Muslims and for the religion of Islam " and you to add that the teachings of Islam extend the same rights to Christians and Jews.

As for the Bahai's, Muslims don't consider them a religion simply because Mohammed PUH was the last prophet according to the Quran, and some say according to the Bible too.

Islam would never care for humanity.
If it feels that some religion is inferior it will mistreat them. Its the nature of Islam from the beginnning.

It cannot live in harmony with other faiths. ( christianity is no different though )

Basic belief of Islam is:
There is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his (Allah's) messenger.

and in verse 39:46 in Holy Quran:

Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) says:

It is narrated on the authority of Jabir that a man came to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, what are the two things quite unavoidable? He replied: He who dies without associating anyone with Allah would (necessarily) enter Paradise and he who dies associating anything with Allah would enter the (Fire of) Hell.

His simple questions:
1. Why would God choose an illiterate to recieve His Message to Humanity?
Answer: Why God choose you to be man? (if you are man as I don't know your gender)

2. Why would God choose such a man as Mohammad, whose charecter was far from holy, for a "Prophet" and give him no Prophecy?
Answer: According to Oxford Dictionary:
Holy : 1. morally and spiritually excellent or perfect, and to be "revered".
2. belonging to or devoted to God.
3 consecrated, sacred.

If you say Prophet Mohammad was not perfect, then it depends upon your criteria which itself has to be questioned first to find out either they are perfect criteria or not.

revere v. hold in deep and usu. affectionate or religious respect.

Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) did prophecised but do you really want to know??? you don't.

3. Would God have given "Revelations" that allowed the old man to have his adoptive son - Za'in divorce his young wife Za'inab so that the old man could have her; and, again, give him a "Revelation" that allowed him to abuse a child - Aisha bint Abu Bak'r?

Answer: In verse 33:37 "(Remember) when you (O Prophet,) were saying to the one who was favored by Allah and favored by you, “Keep your wife to your self, and fear Allah.” And you were concealing in your heart what Allah was going to reveal, and you were fearing people, while Allah is more entitled to be feared by you. So, when Zaid finished his desire for her, We gave her into your marriage, so that there may not be a problem for the believers in marrying wives of their adopted sons, when they finish their desire for them; and Allah’s decree had to be enforced."

Your question is misleading. You try to give impression that revelation asked/ordered Za'id to divorce his wife.
Where this revelation tells the real truth Prophet Mohammad was asking Za'id to don't divorce as Za'id was freed man from being slave and his wife was of Cousin of Prophet Mohammad who belongs to higher status family.

Two further evidences cited by Maulana Muhammad Ali
In the footnotes of his Urdu translation and commentary of Sahih Bukhari, entitled Fadl-ul-Bari, Maulana Muhammad Ali had pointed out reports of two events which show that Aisha could not have been born later than the year of the Call. These are as follows.

1. The above mentioned statement by Aisha in Bukhari, about her earliest memory of her parents being that they were followers of Islam, begins with the following words in its version in Bukhari’s Kitab-ul-Kafalat. We quote this from the English translation of Bukhari by M. Muhsin Khan:

“Since I reached the age when I could remember things, I have seen my parents worshipping according to the right faith of Islam. Not a single day passed but Allah’s Apostle visited us both in the morning and in the evening. When the Muslims were persecuted, Abu Bakr set out for Ethiopia as an emigrant.” [9]

Commenting on this report, Maulana Muhammad Ali writes:

“This report sheds some light on the question of the age of Aisha. … The mention of the persecution of Muslims along with the emigration to Ethiopia clearly shows that this refers to the fifth or the sixth year of the Call. … At that time Aisha was of an age to discern things, and so her birth could not have been later than the first year of the Call.” [10]

Again, this would make her more than fourteen at the time of the consummation of her marriage.

2. There is a report in Sahih Bukhari as follows:

“On the day (of the battle) of Uhud when (some) people retreated and left the Prophet, I saw Aisha daughter of Abu Bakr and Umm Sulaim, with their robes tucked up so that the bangles around their ankles were visible hurrying with their water skins (in another narration it is said, ‘carrying the water skins on their backs’). Then they would pour the water in the mouths of the people, and return to fill the water skins again and came back again to pour water in the mouths of the people.” [11]

Maulana Muhammad Ali writes in a footnote under this report:

“It should also be noted that Aisha joined the Holy Prophet’s household only one year before the battle of Uhud. According to the common view she would be only ten years of age at this time, which is certainly not a suitable age for the work she did on this occasion. This also shows that she was not so young at this time.” [12]

If, as shown in the previous section above, Aisha was nineteen at the time of the consummation of her marriage, then she would be twenty years old at the time of the battle of Uhud. It may be added that on the earlier occasion of the battle of Badr when some Muslim youths tried, out of eagerness, to go along with the Muslim army to the field of battle, the Holy Prophet Muhammad sent them back on account of their young age (allowing only one such youngster, Umair ibn Abi Waqqas, to accompany his older brother the famous Companion Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas). It seems, therefore, highly unlikely that if Aisha was ten years old the Holy Prophet would have allowed her to accompany the army to the field of battle.


We conclude from all the evidence cited above that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was nineteen years old when she joined the Holy Prophet as his wife in the year 2 A.H., the nikah or betrothal having taken place five years previously.
