Only a rewriting of history by the historian John Boswell in 1994 says that the Catholic Church canonized a gay couple in a same sex union.
Other than one word in Greek that can be taken several different ways there is no proof of this sinful relationship.

no, they weren't. there's no reason to think they were. some modern historians looking to 'recover' gay history will interpret any intimate friendship between men as being gay, which is both a distortion of history and a crying shame for men. believe it or not, it is possible for men to be good friends, even to love one another, without sex being involved!
