I'm currently reading the book,"The Purpose Driven Life." by Rick Warren. Does the Catholic Church approve of this book? I was hoping "I;'m A Catholic "will see this and answer.. Thanks to all who respond.

The Catholic Church does not have a "forbidden book list", but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be prudent. Reading a book should have a purpose. If we just read a book out of curiosity, and are unprepared to critically read it, we could fall prey to anti-chirstian thought.

Here is a review from Catholic Answers on the author and book that would be good to give consideration to before you read it.

It should be fine. We don't oppose you form seeking answers to questions you may have. I'm catholic and have a great fascination with Wicca. Doesn't mean I want to be Wicca I just want to know about it.

I know more about Catholicism than any of you.
Don't listen to the Catholic Church. You will know only fear and bigotry. That's the one that had a problem with Darwin, J.K. Rowling, Marx, and many others.

There should be no words that a true religion is afraid of, if they are, then they are trying to hide something from you..
