Well, this is maybe weird, but by scratching his ... area, u make him go to the "bathroom" easier. But for "smacking" his backside, I think its pretty the same. Oooor, like everybody else says, maybe he is VERY horny, get him a girlfriend, and your hands (or whatever) are free. Funny question lol

Lol, I can't really say why, but I can say it's normal. I have two cats, one loves to be smacked on his lower back just above his tail (butt area) and the other one loves to be scratched there. Both of them will alternately crouch down or arch up against my hand as I pet them, and their heads weave back and forth, their eyes close and they start licking the air. It's so funny :)
I think there's a bundle of nerves low on the back just above the base of the tail, and they enjoy it :)

Because she's a strange bird ? I have no clue, but my dog thinks it's a game when I have him out for a walk to make me mad at him so I will try to smack his butt to get him to go home.

I have a fat cat that loves to get her butt smacked. (Not my idea!) She gets all wound up and when you stop she attacks another cat (not bad) It's really kind of funny. Why, I don't know.

LOL I DON'T think it means he's horny. Every cat I've ever had loves it, too, and they had all been spayed or neutered.
