Definitely buy a Graco- they have the best registry and recall information for their products. They are extensively tested to meet safety requirements. Infant seats are good because you can remove them from the base and carry your baby around in them. After your baby gets too big though (about 22 pounds) you will need to buy an infant/toddler convertible seat. You could avoid buying two seats by just purchasing the convertible seat, but that seat is not portable and stays in the car. The snugride car seat is the most popular infant Graco seat.

Graco is wonderful--carseats are cute and easy to use, great customer service, and they make travel systems--where the car seat can snap right into the stroller. We have a Graco snugride infant car seat that came with the stroller and the base that stays in the car so you can snap the car seat right in (it's Winnie-the-pooh, but they make many many colors and designs). The car seat held up very well, even after washing the pad several times--and we will be using it again for our new baby due in May. Try walmart.com or babiesrus.com to see different styles. Good luck!

Just make sure that you get a NEW one. You do not want to get a seat that could have been in an accident, there may be unseen damage to the unit that will make it LESS effective in protecting you little one.

All of the car seats that are sold now are safe and reliable. You can spend $60, or you can spend up to $300. It really depends on how many bells and whistles you want. Just make sure that it is capable of being a rear facing seat for the first year.

If you get a seat with a base it is a little easier, but if you are short on $ $ $, you need to know that you and your little one will survive.

One recommendation that I will make to you, is to use a receiving blanket to line the seat, , , yes the padding on most is removable, but if you only have a tiny mess, it is much easier to just remove and wash the receiving blanket. ( when I say receiving blanket I am referring to a very thin blanket that will not add bulk or become a choking hazard to your little one)

It's nice to get a travel sytem, where the infant seat snaps out of the base and then into a stroller- but by about 6mo that has to go and you should look into also getting a convertible rear-facing to forward facing seat. I got the Eddie Bauer convertible seat and it's really nice. Shop around- I found the seat at BJ's wholesale club for $99 and you can get the same model online for over $250!

The best thing in the world is the infant carrier that attaches to a base in your car and then can be transferred to a stroller. If the baby is asleep you can just pick the seat up and move it to the stroller without waking the baby up. It is a wonderful investment. The stroller can be used long after they outgrow the infant carrier, also.

Make sure it fits your car, for example its not too big or not too small. Also, make sure its an infant seat not a toddler seat. Youll know becuase all infant seats come with bases and things to keep the infants head in place. My son has a graco carseat and its the green one with winnie the pooh on it. I love it, but its up to you.

I would recomend after you buy the carseat you like that you take it to your local fire station, they have guys who are certified in carseat installation and can show you the proper way to install it in your car. thats what i did when i had my twin boys.

Make sure that the buckles aren't a pain, and that you don't have to almost kill youself everytime it needs adjusted. Mess with it in the store as much as possible. Babies R Us has a seat in the store so that you can practice putting it in.

i'd upload: toddler powder Diaper rash cream fabric diapers (they arrive in very obtainable for spit up rags) One or 2 small toys i would not concern approximately meds precise now. They expire so that's superb to in ordinary terms get them once you like them. in case you experience you need to get some, in simple terms get one bottle of the two toddler tylonal or toddler motren.
