has a tiny ball inside his head. I was petting my dog's head and noticed a tiny ball inside his skin. Is this normal for dogs or poodles???

On the top of his head? That's his skull....

sounds like he might have a small cyst, however take the pooch to a vet to be sure. They will probably extract, via a syringe, some of the fluid to insure that it is benign.


Please don't delay in the trip to the vet...he deserves all the best care you can offer. If money is a problem, check with your local vet offices, some have payment options.

How big is this "ball", is it like a grain of rice? If it's the size of a grain of rice it might be a microchip. If it's bigger then that then check your puppy's body for blood and holes, then take him to the vet. There are some sick people out there that would shoot dogs with b.b. guns just for fun. I just hope that it is a micochip.

I have a poodle too with the same type of thing! I took him to get looked at and they just said that it was a knot or part of the skull

Poodles have very oily skin. It MAY be a sebaceous oil gland.
But if you are wise, take poochie to the vet and be sure it's not anything serious!!

I have 3 toy poodles. They can have moles like people. All 3 of mine do.

it's called a cyst. a cyst is blood bubble. theres nothing to be alarmed

IF YOUR NOT SURE YOU SHOULD BE SAFER THAN SORRY. TAKE DOG TO VET. WHAT IF ITS CANCER OR TUMOR OR SOMETHING.
