my cat has just had kittens but they have the face of a dog, their body has the markings of the cat but the head is white and tan just like the dogs. we were never sure who the father was.

Grins, these species do not interbreed. New born kittens and puppies all have that scrunched in face. Give them a day or so and they will look more like kittens. Their eyes should open in about 10 days, in about 3 weeks they will be rough housing and playing. I'd like to see them be left with their mom for at least 2 months, if not 3. Kittens are routinely taken from their mom to early. This causes anxiety in the kitten and the queen (mother cat) and will send the queen back into heat faster. Enjoy them. There are few things that are as much fun to watch develop as an animal. Children are the exception. *s*

Did your cat not have a steady boyfriend, that you don't know who the father is?
Have you asked your cat who the father is? Hussy.
Kittens from the same litter can have different (feline, cross-species is not possible, I believe. So I doubt your dog is responsible) fathers, as several 'eggs' are released, and the queen can be mated with several times whilst in heat, thus ensuring that she is impregnated by different toms.

I think that you should get a paternity test. I find it very unlikely that a dog would father kittens. Dogs aren't attracted to female cats like toms are. I'd be very surprised if the father did turn out to be a dog.

Well new born kittens ears are folded down ,they will perk up within a few weeks.
Yes, they have smooshy faces like that of a puppy, but they will also tone out as they get older.

Well kitten's ears aren't pointy at birth, they look a lot like dog's ears, maybe that's it?
