My best friend was very much in'like' with this guy and they were going to meet up this week... (he lives in another state) She bought a plane ticket, bought new weather appropriate clothes, etc and all they could talk about for the three weeks prior was how excited they were to see eachother. two days before she is to get on a plane, he tells her "Don't come" Now my friend is heartbroken. I've done what I know to help cheer her up... got her flowers, a silly card, took her and all our girlfriends out to dinner... but she's still sad. I know she'll be sad for a while and there is little i probably can do, but I just want her to be happy again and any advise would be great!

Juls you are a FANTASTIC FRIEND!!! This story sounds sooo familiar, as for your friend she will just need time...but as long as she knows that you are there for her, that alone will help her get through her bad love spell. Just keeping being the best friend that you are and allow her time, oh and keep her busy...that usually works to get your mind off of things! Best of luck and tell your friend that maybe just maybe that guy wasn't the one, I mean if he couldn't make time for her at the beg. imagine if they were in a long term relationship and all the heartache she would have to suffer. She should be grateful that he showed his true side early in their relationship rather than later when too many emotions were involved.

don't give up on her. She's your best friend and even if it takes a while, she'll need someone by her side.

Telling her to just get over him like that, isn't going to make her feel much better. It'll take some time.

All you can do is be supportive and be there for her. Be the shoulder she can cry on and just be a good friend. Let her know that your there for her and if she needs to talk your there aswell.

You can't help someone who doesn't need help. If she wants to mend her broken heart she should have that resolve not you. You have done your best already all you can do for her is to be there when she needs someone.

What a great friend!
Time is the only healer - time and/or a new squeeze.
