I have a similar problem. I breakout off and on (especially when the weather changes) and I ordered proactiv. Unfortunately, the toner and the lotion make my skin break out so bad that my face turns red everywhere I put it.

Now I use the Proactiv cleanser alone and use Mario Badescu's Healing Cream as a moisturizer. Mario Badescu has a lot of acne products that are good for sensitive skin, which it sounds like you have. You can buy his products online at www.mariobadescu.com.

That means you have sensitive skin. What you need is a wash that does not contain any irritant. Perfumes are sometimes irritant, and so is benzoyl peroxide, the principal active ingredient in acne face washes.

Use something in the line of Aveeno face wash, which is reknown to work very well on sensitive skin. If you still want to use medicated (benzoyl peroxide containing) soaps or creams, do not use them every day. Or better yet use a good exfoliating cream (without perfume) occasionally (once/twice a week).

Most people think that oily/mixt skin with acne is coarse, when it is actually the contrary ! If you irritate and dry your skin too much, it will start producing more pimples.

Clean & Clear Acne Scrub is a really awesome face wash. You wet your face, apply it, rinse your face, and then damp your face dry. Its really easy and it works very well. You can probably find some at WalMart, KMart, or Target. Just a little bottle is only 97 cents.

In order for an acne medication to work it has to dry up the oil that clogs your pours that creats the pimples. I suggest finding a makeup fondation that has a mild moisterizer in it.

if you have dry skin DO NOT use proactiv as it will make it worse!! try products with salicylic acid (2%) I'm using the JOEY NEW YORK clear pores range. Neutrogena does some too. also try fighting acne from the inside with acnezine (www.acnezine.com) a healthy natural diet, exercise and lots of water!!!
DO NOT TAKE DRAIN-O (what the hell is he on???)

my mom had really bad acne and she tried everything to get those zits away, then this guy told her to try retinA and it helped! They went away real fast and my mom hasn't had any acne problems since. I use Noxema. I think it works VERY well. But, if your zits are hormonal they don't go away unless on their own.
