Life is life--bad things happen--it rains on the just and the unjust. The only thing that you have control of in your listing is your grades and your attitude. If you believe, try thanking God for what you have. Right now you are walking through a valley. Remember you are just passing through. Look for the good. Your prayers can help your mother. Have you done your best in school? Only you can answer that. Salvation does not keep you from sadness. Salvation offers you help that you may overcome sin and walk in Righteousness.

Just because YOU accepted Jesus does not mean every thing will be fine for those around you, there is no guarantee that things will all ways be pleasant for you in this life.

The Bible says that all things work for good to those who trust God. That means bad things can work to our good in the end if we keep trying to get closer to God.

For your mother, this could be a time where you learn to pray more, for here health, and most of all her salvation.

For your friend, this shows that we do not know when our time on earth will end. So we must be ready at all times. It also shows us that we should be concerned about our friends salvation and lead us into working for their salvation through prayer and witnessing.

I'm going to assume that you are still young. It's not uncommon to question God. It's hard to believe that's he there with you and everything is going bad around you. And don't listen to those God hating people. They don't understand. God can't stop your mom from having cancer if she is suppose to get it. But he can help your mom remain strong and give her the will to fight this disease. If it was time for your friend to die God is going to bring home. We don't understand why God does what he does all the time. Sometimes when we pray we pray for things God can not answer. Don't pray for God to take away the cancer. He can not do that. Medicine has to do that. Pray that your mom stays strong and don't give up. That's something God can help with. Sometimes we have to face the bad to appreciate the good when it comes. We take life for granted at times and expect everything to be giving to us instead of working for
it. That's probably not what you want to hear but it's the truth.

Being a Christian does not keep bad things from happening to you. The body still breaks down and we get sick. We can still be hurt and bad people can do bad things to us. God doesn't just reach down and make it all better.

If you don't mind my saying so, I think you should get a little therapy (or see your school counselor) if you aren't already. With your friend dying and your mother sick you could probably use it (you said your grades are slipping and that can be a sign of depression. It's good to nip it in the bud before it gets any worse).

Hope this helps.

you have to keep an open mind about the world. dont just choose one place to put all of your faith, put it in everything.

something such as breast cancer and the car crash are inherently out of your hands. things like that happen, suffering is a part of life. your actions develop reactions from your surrounding. the term "such is life" is what i like to use.

i highly suggest you look into a religion such as buddhism. ive learned a lot about suffering and life from it than i ever had from christianity. i dont understand how a god wouldnt want you to question things.

oh, and your grades. thats your fault in the end. something youre doing wrong there. are you not studying? are you not doing your homework? in order to stop suffering you must understand suffering. understand the cause and only then can you solve the problem.

good luck, hope your mother fights through it.

Sometimes our faith is tested, and sometimes God is putting us in a position to be a witness to others. Sorry to hear about your mother and friend. I would suggest talking with your pastor or some you respect at your church. Your grades dropping are probably a product of the other things that are happening right now.

When you got saved I'm hoping that you were told that satan is working extra hard to get you back to him. Just think of it this way. If kidnappers came to take your mom away, would you just let them have her or would you fight tooth and nail to get her back? I'm sure you'd fight for her anyway you knew how. That's what satan is doing right now. Attacking you to make you question God. Don't give up. Just keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and have faith that God knows whats best for you.

Remember, with God for you who can be against you. God bless

this is exactly what I have tried to explain on a post that was deleated from YA . why if something goes wrong in your life do you blame God. God doesn't make life all better. I personaly dont belive at all in Christianity one bc they proclaim to know what god wants and 2 bc every church you go to they say worship god and your life will be better. As if the laws of cause and effect are non existant and that there is no such thing as science. and 3rd bc everyone you talk to rams the faith down your throat. I think there is a "god" that we have no way to comprehend what God/Goddess is like and that he or she or it doesnt meddle with our lives and allows us freedom of choice and also have laws of nature it just happens that your mom is going to have to fight the good fight (my mom had cancer doesn mean god is smitting you). God doesnt fight your battles for you, It is a battle within yourself on how you view the events in your life and wether you celebrate the life of your father and cherish his memory or curse it by blamming someone for it. and holding hate in your heart.

Honey, God never promised us a perfect life here on earth , he promised us a perfect beautiful eternity in heaven. Do not lose Faith, he does have a purpose for all he does and even though we do not understand his purpose he knows his reasons. My brother died of spinal menigitus when he was only 9 months old and it would have been so easy for my folks to blame God and lose faith but they never faltered, My Dad says " I will be with him again someday " My Mom says She closes her eyes and pictures him running into the arms of the Lord and it gives her peace. But you know after he died my Grandma accepted Christ as her Savior because of the word of God she heard at the funeral and because she saw how my parents kept their faith through it all. God has a purpose for you , go to him daily to ask for help with your grades and to watch over your Mom and help her through her battle, he is listening..here is a poem to help................................it is called The Differance...I got up early one morning and rushed right into my day, I had so much to accomplish that i didn't have time to pray..Problems tumbled about me and harder came each task"why doesn't God help me" I wondered, He answered, "you didn't ask" I wanted Joy and Beauty, but the day was gray and bleak, I wondered why God didn't show me, He said "you didn't seek" I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and loving said, " My child you didn't knock" I woke up early this morning, and paused before starting the day. I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.
