I am currently taking 2 x St Johns Wort tablets a day which is the recommended dosage on the bottle. They are 334mg Standardised extract and provide 1 mg Hypercin. What harm would it do to increase the dosage to 3 or even 4 tablets a day. Would I be doing myself any harm and would it help my moods better.

if you are taking these for depression have a look at PROXAN - this makes the brain create its own serotonin again (the happy chemical) whereas antidepressants put artifical serotonin in your brain... St Johns wart is very mild, if you dont have the desired effects I would have a chat to your doctor or psych and check this out! also EPA in omegas is great for the functioning of the brain, cheack out vegepa.com

They've done research on St. John's Wort and they really haven't been able to prove that it works as an antidepresant. I don't think it will hurt you but be warned that St. John's will make your skin more sensitive to sun burn. It has also been recorded that cattle have been poisened by eating St. John's wort. It never said they died.

Why don't you try valerian? It comes in pill form and has no side effects that I know of.

properly, you probably did no longer say how plenty became in each and each tablet or what you're taking it for, (i'm guessing melancholy) yet i'd say 3 hundred mg is a suited dose, not greater, no much less. wish this helps and robust success!

you know like i keep saying each person is different, and so they react to medication, and herbs different, so if you are taking the macs now, thenn i would ask a doctor, to make sure it would be safe to take a higher dosage.
