I just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out on thursday morning. They put me to sleep. But its Saturday and I still cant feel my lipsand one side of my cheek. Dont you think the novacaine should have worn out by now?

Yes, Novacaine wears off in a few hours and is completely out of your system after 24-48 hours. I would call the office to let them know asap. Since it's Saturday, they should have a number where you can get a hold of a Dr. to tell him. I'm a dental assistant and unless they've used some kind of different anesthetic (that I've never heard of), they could have damaged a nerve somewhere.

They probably hit a nerve when injecting the anesthetic. They should have explained the risks before you had them taken out. Sometimes the feeling comes back but it takes a while. Call your dentist, today!

I had my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday (Friday) morning and my anesthesia has worn off completely. However, I used local anesthesia and nitrous oxide gas, not general anesthesia. I am unsure how long it takes general anesthesia to wear off; the nurse told me that local anesthesia can take up to 12 hours to wear off. I would think that by now, though, yours would have worn off. I would definitely be calling my dentist/oral surgeon if I were you. Good luck.
