i even have very thick wavy hair....i struggled with it for an exceedingly long term untill i grew to become into approximately 25 years previous infact. I certainly have discovered that there is no longer something you're able to do with regard to the humidity (on humid days i purely scrunch with some gel and flow) yet i ended up reducing my hair genuine short. like as much as my chin. with a lovable decrease and thinned it out alot. I even have been given a chemical straightner put in it. I might desire to replace the straightner each 2-3 months. My hair has grown out now and because i decrease all of the ineffective stuff off and started clean that's extra manegable. i save it thinned out and chemically straightned and it works great.

GHD without a doubt. I have Ginger Curly hair, i usually leave it curly, but the days i go straight its got to be GHD's i know they are a little more expensive but so worth it. I had bought a couple of less expensive (Remington & Babyliss) kinds but nothing compares to GHD's.
Save up for another month and look online your bound to get a good deal for about £100. Good Luck

Hi as long as the straighteners get upto a high temperature (eg. around 200 degrees +) and they have a wide plate then you should be fine. The wider plate helps with thicker hair. Just make sure you use a heat protection spray to stop your hair from being damaged. I have morphy richards straighteners which are really good and only cost £30. They are just as good as the GHDs we use at work. Hope this helps x

I would say go for tresemme or Nicky Clarke. Neither are that expensive and both are good. But i would recommend that you save up for a while and get the thick GHD's. I have really curly hair and those work great, but the other 2 are good aswell.

Get 'She' straighteners - they are made with the same parts and in the same factory as GHDs and they straighten my curly/frizzy hair just as well as GHDs! They cost around £30 too.
Remington and babyliss are NOWHERE near as good - don't waste your money on them!

Nicky Clarke ones are suppost to be good. They range from £20-£30.

Argos is the only place at the moment that i can think of that sells them.

Good Luck

i dont use them myself, but my daughter has the babyliss pro straightners she said they are great and they go up to 230 degrees, she also has thick wavy hair. she said to tell you she also has the babyliss straightner hair dryer and said it helps to use that before the straightners. hope this helps...kate.
