any ideas on the types of food i ought 2 be eating so i put some weight on but not get too flabby or fatty or worse yet pile it up on the thighs, hips etc

ideally i would like to put some on around the face/cheek area as i have noticed that my cheekbones are becoming very visible and cheeks go in when i smile.....

thanks in advance....p.s. am not anorexic or boulimic or anything else lol

Hi there, you don't say how old you are or how tall you are so it is hard to know if you are underweight really, I can imagine it is really annoying to have people accuse you of being anorexic when you are just naturally thin. I would be careful not to start overeating, because that could be very unhealthy for you. The kinds of foods you really need will be those that are healthy but high in protein, not fatty or junk food. The best place to start would be your family doctor or nurse, get them to weigh you and tell you officially if you are underweight. If you are too scared to go to your doctor, pop in to any local chemist/pharmacy shop and ask to speak in private to the pharmacist, as they will be very happy to give free advice (its their job!). If you do discover that you are underweight, then ask your doctor to send you to a dietician, who will work out a system for you to gain weight correctly. Alternatively, If you are old enough (over 16) you could also try your local gym or sports club who give you a health assessment for a small fee. They will advise you on exercise and diet. But if you are actually not underweight at all, and your doctor/nurse/pharmacist/gym trainer say that you are fine as you are, then you should just tell all those horrible friends to get lost and mind their own business!!

Could just be an innocent comment and they don't really mean for you to change.....such a preoccupation with weight.
Fact of the matter is: lean people are generally healthier and live longer.
At this point in your life, it just may be your own, distinct body make up (metabolism).
If you have any reason to believe that you could be ill (fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, rapid heart rate) see your health care provider for a thorough exam.
High carbs and fat diets aren't recommended for anyone.
Exercise 3-4 days a week and your body will do what it's going to do.
There's soooooo much more to a person !!!

Try to increase your intake of carbohydrates.
You only need to add an extra 500Kcals a day, so a few extra ortions of rice or pasta or bread a day could achieve this.

Unfortunately you cannot dicatate where the extra weight will go, but a little more weight may help you achieve your goal, and the safest way is from complex or fibrous carbs.
