I was there last year during the festival and this year it's April 3-5 and you'll have a great time, they say that anytime between the 1-12 of April is a good time to see them...

As to where the best place to go? The tidal basin down by the Jefferson memorial is the best place to go, there's a really nice walkway along the basin, it's really pretty- pack a lunch and a bottle of wine and just sit and people watch and enjoy the smell!!

The National Park Service indicates that the peak bloom will be PEAK BLOOM DATE: April 1st- 7th (http://www.nps.gov/nama/planyourvisit/cherry-blossom-bloom.htm)

The Cherry Blossom festival begins March 31st this year. The parade will be Saturday, April 14th.

Anywhere along Haines Point has fantastic view of the blossoms. .
