whats the best way to find out friends?

What if you have no idea where they are or if they have changed there name? Has anyone found old friends?
I had a friend find me, she found my sister first.

Is this an old friend? Like from high school? Collage? Well if it is you could check the school and see if they have a parent's name and number to start with. If not try searching their name on the web, then you can start to narrow it down form there. I have done this but it took some time.
