There is a world of difference between knowing of someone and knowing him *personally*. To know of someone—a remote monarch, a top athlete, a film star—is simply to acknowledge that he exists. To know someone *personally*, however, means much more. It involves being familiar with that person’s character, conduct, feelings, likes and dislikes, and plans for the future.
Although invisible, he is a person, and he has a name—Jehovah. The Bible recommends that you get to know Jehovah closely. In fact, Jesus said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” You are also encouraged to develop godly qualities, particularly love, and to make it your personal goal to live under God’s incoming Messianic Kingdom. You will then have a purpose in life and a wonderful, secure hope for the future.—John 17:3; Ecclesiastes 12:13.
Congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses come together for meetings that are specially designed to help individuals to draw closer to Jehovah and to have joy in serving him. Associating with local Witnesses has a further benefit. Since humans gradually become more and more like the God they worship, Jehovah’s Witnesses display qualities—however in a limited sense—that Jehovah himself manifests. So gathering with Witnesses helps us get to know Jehovah still better.—Hebrews 10:24, 25 -
Does that sound like a lot of effort simply to get to know one Person? Effort is certainly required. But is that not true of many things in life that you want to achieve?

Knowing about God; knowing God; knowing the will of God
These are all separate issues.
A JW will ask if you know God, and then try to draw you into a lengthy discourse based around whatever you say to them.
The idea behind this is simply to get you on their side, at which point, they have almost got you.
Since Jehovah's Witnesses don't accept that you are entitled to personal divine revelation, they are denying that prayer and the act of praying actually works - this is a circular argument and is the plank they must remove from their own eyes before they extricate the splinter from yours.

I do know that there is only one God and it really doesn't matter what religion you are as long as you believe. God created us all as equals. we must always believe there is a supreme being that created us and loves us dearly. He holds us in the palm of his hand and guides us through rough times as well as the easy times. God loves you. It doesn't matter what religion you are, what color your skin is nor whether your a male or female. I"m not a religious freak, as some may call it, but i believe in God.The witnesses believe that there is a god but there God is the only God. I have a friend who gave up our friendship because I wouldn't join her religion. She is a witness. What kind of religion is that? That's not what God intended, I'm sure of that.

I don't know about others but the one I come from is the true religion. all will one day under my religion and there will be peace, no wars, plenty of food and grain. God sent His true word to the world through Sikhism when there were conflicts, other words of God were manipulated by man and there was nothing but darkness everywhere, then a beam of light crossed through the clouds of darkness and and showed light to everyone. It was Sikhism.

They claim to be a work in process. As to whether or not anyone truly knows has yet to be seen.Perhaps the Gnostic's were more accurate in their own brand of speculative delusions as well. This is so much like politics.......again. God or Jehovah has yet to send the JW's an autographed picture of himself to the best our knowledge either.

Indeed, "there are many 'gods' and many 'lords,'" states the Bible. However, it adds: "There is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are." (1 Corinthians 8:5, 6) Yes, there is only one true God. But who is he? What is he like? It is important for us to know the answers to these questions. Jesus himself said in prayer to this One: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ." (John 17:3) There is reason to believe that our eternal welfare depends on knowing the truth about God
