Good things come to those who wait...but only what is left from those who hustle!

To answer this question, I'm going to quote a joke. It's an old joke but very appropriate.

A devout religous man gets down to pray every night before bed. He prays to God to let him win the lottery. Night after night, week after week, month after month, but he never wins. So one night he gets down on his knees to pray and he asks God, "I'm a devout man. I have served you all my life. Why haven't you let me win the lottery?". Then God appears before him and says, "Buy a damn ticket first."

Yes, I would have to say I do in almost all cases. The people who hustle and make an effort get first choice and by the time they are finished what is left over is there for the people who sit back and wait for something.

Not necessarily. I'm all for being present, feeling whatever you feel. A lot of people instantly react, so for example, let's say there's a person you're really attracted to. O.K. You could hustle and get the person. Who's to say what will happen later though? Sometimes the greatest person turns into the greatest nightmare.

Let's say instead that you go deeply into your feelings and don't rush off to immediately act on something. Maybe you do end up with this person, and maybe they end up being great. Maybe you just feel your feelings, and someone else ends up being with them. Then a few months later you find out that they've been brutalized by this person who's so attractive to everyone, that they were lured into the relationship, while you weren't.

Really, who's to say?

I could never agree with that statement as a fact, because obviously it's not a fact. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

No, I do not agree with this phrase, everything that you have coming to you, will come at the right time, and it won't be the leftovers from the hustlers....it will be what God has planned for you, of course you don't just wait and do nothing to achieve your goal, patience is the key, but put your effort into it also.

The assumptions are too numerous to mention. I'd need more context.

Is some cases you get rewarded for patience, while it others you get rewarded for hustle.
