How many people here believe they are in possesion of Absolute Truth?

How do you know? How can you recognise Absolute Truth when you see it? With so many people in the world believing they are in sole posession of the truth, how did you know which Truth to choose?

Everything changes; life grows, seeds, dies, rocks erode, matter spreads out and collects. Truth is no more static then that. Every sentient perspective, in the infinite shifts and changes perception goes through as awareness begins, and reacts and impacts other perspectives, is precious and unique and fluid and fading. When you recognize Truth in yourself and others, respect it, honor it, and expect your awareness and ability to apply it to change.

How does one recognize it? :) with all one's being; body, mind, soul, in one's personal context, in greater contexts.

How does one possess it? :) No one can, even for an instant. It is bigger than one's entire life, than anything that is. Anyone who claims to possess it exclusively doesn't.

Well, there is no way to truly know the Unknowable until it is too late to matter here on Earth, so I will say no one really knows the absolute truth. I will say, however, that many people are in possession of a Personal Truth - the answers that makes sense to them, often arrived at by carefully considering the various theories and view points and choosing the one that feels right.

The bottom line is that Religion is here as a tool to help us - and we seem to do best with a faith that mirrors what we believe anyway. No one can know they possess the absolute truth, they can THINK they possess the absolute truth which is a clear sign they don't.

There is no one font of wisdom. But we chose what is best for us.

Those who think they have the Absolute and only truth leave themselves at a disadvantage whether they are religious or non religious

This is similar to a question of infinity. No one can attain infinity nor absolute truth. However, one can be confident about the truth we have found so far. In statistical and relative term, achieving 99% accuracy sometimes is what we settle for. Our free will tells us to keep searching for truth.

How can this be? We are imbued with truth unless we submit to truth, hold fast to faith that truth will be given, excersie truth for others to see. We are not the possesor of truth, but we are ones who seek to obey the truth as it is given. Absolute truth is the Word of God.

Life is about learning things for yourself by making mistakes and changing your mind. Some people would rather accept everything they're told at face value without examining the evidence for themselves. If you think you already know everything, you can never admit you're wrong and can never learn anything new. Then what's the point of living at all? I know it sounds like a crappy inspirational poster, but life's about the journey, man.

If I thought the Bible was just another book, written by human authors and only containing various people's ideas about God, then I wouldn't bother to quote it or build my life on it. It would be like any other religious book: a collection of thoughts about God which might or might not be true.

But I am persuaded the Bible is more than that—that it is God's Word in written form, given to us so we can know Him and learn how He wants us to live. As a young preacher, I went through a period of doubt about the Bible, realizing that if it wasn't God's Word, then I didn't have a reliable message to give to people. But after a period of intense searching and struggle I came away convinced that the Bible is indeed God's Word, and "All Scripture is God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16).

One reason I came to accept the Bible as God's Word was because of what Jesus said about the Scriptures. Repeatedly He quoted them as the Word of God, and He declared that "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away" (Mark 13:31). If Jesus accepted the Scriptures as God's Word, shouldn't I also as His follower?

I urge you to get acquainted with the Bible personally, asking God to speak to you through its pages. Begin with one of the Gospels, for there you will meet the Bible's center—who is Jesus Christ. He will change you, as you open your life to Him.

The Word of God, the Holy Bible King James Version is the Truth of God and God is Truth.

This Bible has been contested more times than any book in all of history and it has stood the test of time. The prophets in the Holy Bible have prophesied the truth every time. Not one prophecy has failed. It truly is the Word of God.
